About Me
Ukenda Moulden is a Baltimore-based music technology composer, audio engineer, and violinist. A recent graduate of Towson University, Ukenda recorded over 50 concerts for the Department of Music, engineered more than 10 studio sessions, and performed in free improvisation ensembles that integrated live electronics. While completing their education at TU, Ukenda has completed a yearlong marketing internship at The Keystone Korner Baltimore, under the supervision of Artistic Administrator Cheryl Goodman and NEA Jazz Master Todd Barkan. During their final semester at Towson, Ukenda released Immortal, a capstone EP blending lo-fi textures with drum and bass influences. Their artistic development was shaped by mentors including Dr. Will Redman in music technology, Dave Ballou in jazz and commercial composition, and Dr. Nina Kiken in violin performance. Graduating from Towson University in June 2025, Ukenda is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Computer Music at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where they study with Dr. Lyn Goeringer and Dr. Samuel Pluta.
Artistic Direction
Ukenda's work moves between composed structure and exploratory sound. Their music draws from experimental practice, drum and bass motion, lo-fi texture, live electronics, and a performer’s sensitivity to gesture and space.
What I do
Alongside composing and graduate study, Ukenda records studio sessions, performs live, and collaborates with other artists on new interdisciplinary work. Their broader practice sits between experimental composition, computer music, violin performance, and beat-driven production.
